If you’re expecting Augusta National for under $60, you’re out of your mind. But if you are looking for an incredibly fair, dollar-for-dollar golf experience, Birkdale Golf Club is absolutely hitting the mark. I played yesterday for a very affordable rate and was genuinely impressed. The course is in great shape for the price point, and you can clearly see the staff out there actively fixing the parts that need attention. The greens were firm, green, and rolling nicely. Beyond the course itself, the customer service was fantastic. A huge shoutout to Josh and the rest of the team—they were incredibly accommodating and went completely out of their way to ensure I had a great round. Highly recommend for a realistic, great-value round of golf.

Played this course yesterday 6/10/26. Had a bad mindset after reading some of the past reviews, but gave it benefit of the doubt. We were extremely impressed to say the least when it comes to the course. Fairways were in great shape, greens were as well. Never got hit up on and never saw the team in front of us so pace was good. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back.

I’ve been playing Birkdale Golf Club for years, and they’ve consistently done an excellent job maintaining the course—especially considering how much play it gets. The layout is a lot of fun and always makes for an enjoyable round. They faced some tough conditions last summer and lost the greens, but the staff worked incredibly hard to bring them back, and they’re in great shape again this year. The ownership group clearly cares about the course and the player experience, and everyone I’ve interacted with in the pro shop has always been friendly and helpful. The driving range is also one of the nicest in the area after last year’s renovation. Highly recommend playing here if you’re in the area.

Pretty nice course for the price! Couple holes with water and beautiful layout! They have a sweet lounge/lunch area and they always have a different classic car inside when you walk in too! It’s $65 for 18 to give you a run down and the food is pretty great as well.

I’ve been hesitant to play this course all year based on reviews. However I gave it a chance in the worst time of the year to play golf, when the grass is dead and the leaves are heavy. I must say I was quite impressed with the current conditions. It appears that they over seeded the fairways and of course the rough is mostly dead. The course was challenging but also enjoyable to play. The staff was friendly. The putting green, driving range, and chipping area are in decent shape however are not the best based on other local courses. The one gripe I have with the play today would be the pace. We were keeping pace with a group ahead of us, however we were being pushed by two groups behind us. A starter on the weekends may be beneficial in making sure evenly spaced groups are going out. All in all I enjoyed my round today and will definitely be back to play again. I encourage anyone who questioned playing over the year to give it another shot, maybe in a better time of the year, it can only be better!
